Creating overlaid graphs

An overlaid graph is called a Combination graph in the Management by Statistics software. Combination graphs use numbers from other statistics in the system.

An overlaid graph is used to compare multiple statistics on the same graph. The Management by Statistics software supports graphing four statistics on the same graph.

Statistics can be graphed against a single scale, as shown below.

Statistics can also be graphed each with their own scale, as in this example.

Our example we'll set up a Cash/Bills graph.

To create a combination graph, add a new statistic. In the first page of the Statistics Wizard enter the name and abbreviation, then select the Combination option for the Stat/Graph Type as shown by 1.

Set the options you want on the second page of the wizard. Number formatting does not affect on how the graph numbers are displayed. Instead the system uses the formatting options of each of the statistics selected. Click Next.

When the Combination option is selected, a third page becomes active.

From lists select the company and statistics you want overlaid on the same graph as shown by 2.

If you want any of the statistics to be shifted in time when they are graphed enter the number of days in the Shift __ days to left field as shown by 3. When statistics are shifted there is a date range for each stat on the graph.

If you want the statistics graphed on the same scale, check the Graph on one scale check box as shown by 4.

Click Finish to save the graph.
