In today's economy, you need every edge you can get. You need to maximize the production of each and every one of your staff and yourself. If you are only reviewing statistics at the end of the week, then you are missing a vital tool that could dramatically help you increase your company's production.

How? By implementing and using the Quota feature in the Management by Statistics software. Here’s how it works:

Each day you have your individual employees (or managers) input their daily production. By setting up a weekly quota graph, you can review how production is going at the end of your day and see if everything in on track to meet your expectations. If production is lagging behind, you can take the actions necessary to correct the situation before the end of the week.

Use the Next button at the bottom of the page to move through the overview.

Switching to Quota Mode and entering a Quota

  1. 1.Click on the Quota mode button in the ribbon. [See screen shot below]
  2. 2.Select the period, in this case Week by Day, in the period drop down.
  3. 3.

Select the graph by clicking on it, which will cause its background to darken. Enter the quota in the quota box in the ribbon, in this case it's “35,000”, and click Save.

A red line will appear on the graph going from zero on the left to the quota amount on the right. If there is no quota entered, there will be no solid red line going up.

The Quota Graph

  1. 4.

There will be two scales on the graph:

    1. The scale on the left is for daily values entered into the system.
    2. The scale on the right is for the accumulating production as the weeks progresses.

The first day's statistic amount is entered

  1. 5.

When the statistic amount is entered for the first day of the week:

    1. The Daily amount will be drawn as a dot.
    2. The accumulating amount will be drawn as a black line, indicating how the amount graphed compares with the weekly Quota amount. You can see if the production is above or below the quota line.

The second day’s statistic amount is entered

  1. 6.

When the second day’s statistic is entered:

    1. The black dotted line represents one day's production to the next. In this case the second day's amount is greater than the first day's and is represented as an upward line.
    2. The second day's amount is added to the first day and the accumulated amount is shown as a black solid line. You can see that the amount being achieved, is slightly below the amount needed to make the weekly quota even though the daily amount is higher.

The third day's stat amount is added

  1. 7.When the third day’s statistic is entered the graph continues to grow.

The fourth day's stat amount is added

  1. 8.When the fourth day’s statistic is entered the graph continues to grow. In this example, you can see that the daily amount produced is down, although the overall accumulated amount is still running on quota.

The fifth day's stat amount is added

  1. 9.When the fifth day’s statistic is entered the accumulating graph line completes the week, if you are using a 5 day week. In this example, you can see both the daily production is up and the overall weekly quota is being met.

How to include the previous week's production as a comparison

  1. A.

Click on the Graph Settings button in the ribbon.

  2. B.

Select the Show Last Period's Accumulating Line option.

  3. C.

    Click OK.

  4. D.

    Here's the result:

Using quotas is a excellent tool to use

If you review your statistics only at the end of the week, you are putting yourself in a position of handling production slumps after they occur. By putting in and managing on daily quotas, you can jump on production slows before they impact your bottom line.

Now how's that for a vital tool? Would this help you get ahead of the game?

By implementing the Management by Statistics 3 software, you can predict and control your company's production, income and profits by getting your key personnel operating on daily quotas.

It's quick to set up and easy to maintain. The quotas you set are remembered for each week.

To operate without keeping track of your group's actual production on a daily basis is to operate blindly. Let Management by Statistics 3 help you to see it all.
