The Management by Statistics software has many graphing options. The following illustrations show the general graphing options and how to use them.

Use the Next button at the bottom of the page to move through the overview.

The Ribbon

  1. When you viewing graphs in the dashboard as shown by in the image below, the ribbon displays the graphing options indicated by .

Normal Graph Mode

  1. When the Normal graph mode is selected, as shown by , graphs are drawn based on the period selected (daily, weekly, bi-weekly, etc) .

As indicated by at the bottom of the image, the graph is showing the day to day amounts going from 28 Nov to 13 Dec.

Normal Graph Mode - Weekly

  1. When the period is changed to Weekly as shown by , graphs are drawn based on their weekly amounts .

When a statistic's amounts are entered on a daily basis the software automatically computes the weekly totals to produce a weekly graph. There is no need to enter separate weekly amounts.

Normal Graph Mode - Graph Headings

  1. In the illustration below you will see how the graph is laid out.

indicates the name of the statistic being graphed.

indicates the title of the post the statistic belongs to.

indicates the name of the employee currently assigned to the post.

indicates the amount of each division on the scale.

indicates the date range the graph covers.

indicates the multiplier for the scale when there are larger numbers involved. In the graph to the right, the real scale is 72 times 1,000 or 72,000 at the bottom and goes up to 112,000 at the top. The system is capable of handling numbers as large as 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 which is clearly too large to be readable in the area available for scaling.

Normal Graph Mode - Number of Periods

  1. The graphs shown so far were graphed with 13 values, but this can be changed to show any where from 4 to 365 values. In the example below the number of periods (values) has been changed to 26, as indicated by .

Normal Graph Mode - Landscape Orientation

  1. The graph below shows 26 values graphed in a Portrait orientation. The Portrait orientation option is indicated by in the image below.

When graphing a larger number of values, a Landscape orientation often makes the graph more readable. The Landscape orientation option is indicated by in the image below.

Normal Graph Mode - Multiple Graphs

  1. You can change how many graphs are displayed on the screen at the same time.

In the example below, the single row option is selected, as indicated by .

In this next example, the two rows option is selected, as indicated by . There are also options for three rows, one column, two columns and three columns, plus there is an auto sizing option.

Normal Graph Mode - Changing the Ending Date of the Graph

  1. You can graph a different date ranges by changing the ending date, indicated by and changing the number of values to graph as covered earlier.

Normal Graph Mode - Hovering the Mouse Over the Graph

  1. When you hover the mouse over a graph the date and total amount are displayed as shown by .

Additional information, indicated by , shows each daily value that makes up the weekly total along with any notes users have entered regarding the amounts.

Normal Graph Mode - Changing the Scale

  1. The Management by Statistics software generates an automatic scale by default.

To change the scale for a graph, first click the mouse on the graph to selected it as indicated by . The Set Graph Scale in the ribbon will become enabled.

Click on the Set Graph Scale button as indicated by . This is open the Set Graph Scale window.

Enter the top and bottom values for your scale, as indicated by , then click the Ok button.

shows the statistic graphed with the new scale.

Graphs - Additional Graph Settings

  1. The Management by Statistics software offers an array of graph options.

Click on the Graph Settings button, as indicated by .

The Graph Settings window will open, as indicated by and offers a number of options to adjust how the graph is drawn. Make the changes you want and click the Ok button.

Graphs - Printing Graphs

  1. Click on the Print button in the ribbon, as indicated by .

The Print Graphs window will open, as indicated by .

Select the printing options that suit your needs and click the Ok button to print the graphs.
